Mindful Movement and Relaxation Wednesday, August 28th

Join us this evening, Wednesday August 28th from 7:15 – 8:30 pm as  Amber will be leading you through a mindfulness based practice.  We’ll be exploring writing as a mindfulness practice, some gentle movement and meditation, as well as an extended relaxation.  These classes will be grounded on the teachings by Jon Kabat – Zinn.

We often become swept up in the busyness of life. Living in an overstimulated world, if we don’t take time to stop, decompress and process then we start to fall apart. What does mindfulness even mean? In simple terms, it means to pay attention to your present moment. It’s a practice that brings us back home to ourselves with compassion and self – love, underneath all the distractions life presents to us. In this class we are gently reintroducing ourselves back to our breath and finding a path underneath the incessant merry-go-round of our thoughts.

When we don’t give ourselves a chance to be quiet and integrate the experiences of our life then we begin to live in a chronic state of stress, we can move through our lives on auto-pilot, and the effects are profound. We see it in our relationships, in the way we communicate, in our health, in our sleep, in our overall energy levels. By simply slowing down we start to reverse these effects and become healthier, happier and calmer.

Please join us as we journey back into the simple experience of a deep full breath, some quiet time in stillness, and gentle slow mindful movement.
