Sat Naam and Namaste
Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead.
We wanted to say a big huge thank you to everyone who came out for our Sunday afternoon karma class for the Lanark County Food Bank. We managed to gather more food for the families and individuals who would otherwise go with out, as well as some financial support to help the food bank to keep doing the important work in our community that they do, I am very grateful. We are all in this together, and everyday I think I realize that a little more. Our next nourishing gong relaxation class for the food bank will be Sunday, December 8th from 2:00 – 3:00 pm.
Simonne will lead you through a few gentle stretches to ease tension in your body, followed by an extended gong relaxation – it was pure bliss this past Sunday, such a wonderful reset for the week ahead.
We are in the planning stages of an art and yoga workshop December 7th, for kids (and their parents if they’d like to attend), we will let you know more details in the next week or so.
Heritage Community Fitness, in Carleton Place, is holding another karma yoga class Friday, November 22nd at 7:30 pm to help support the McComb family, who continue to teach us all about strength in the face of their 10 year old daughter Lilly’s cancer diagnosis and treatment. We held a karma class for the family a few months back, and we are grateful to be supporting this upcoming class to help.
Later this month we also have a fundraiser in support of Movember. Please mark your calender’s for Friday, November 29th, 6:30 – 8:00 pm. Join Jay Young (my husband) and I, for a discussion, a yoga practice, and an extended gong relaxation in support of mens’ mental and physical health. This class is open to all and will be a beginners level yoga practice. 100% of all proceeds raised will go towards Movember; creating and supporting programs, treatments and education geared towards all facets of mens health. This class is pay as you can, and perhaps your donation is the simple intention of your practice to support and create more peace for yourself and for those in your life who need a little extra support right now. It is our hopes that we can all be a little more at ease in our lives – whatever that looks like for you.
We are here in service and always working towards initiatives and classes to help our community. We also love hearing from you. If you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to reach out.
We hope to see you on your mat, or out and about in our special little town.
Much love, Amber and your yoga family at Surya Daya.
