Namaste and Sat Naam! We’re still riding a wave of gratitude for an amazing celebration a few weeks back. Thank you to everyone who took time on their Saturday to stop by and help us celebrate our amazing community through yoga practices, lots of amazing hugs, inspiring conversations, some relaxation, laughter, painting and yes cake! We had so much fun with each of you. We’re sharing a few pictures from our day (thank you Tracey and Chris for capturing so many special memories for us). We can’t wait for our next open studio celebration.
Our community tree looks amazing, thank you everyone who has added their fingerprint, with out you our tree wouldn’t grow, each of you. A special thank you to Linda and Hazel Hamilton for creating such a beautiful piece for us. We look forward to a long future helping our community to thrive. If you’d like to add your fingerprint, we have paint at the studio so please just let us know!
We are driven by our vision of a happy, healthy and supported global community, and we truly have made it our mission to create a safe environment for accessible yoga and wellness based education to support and empower individuals of all ages to thrive in body, mind and spirit. We intend to uphold our vision within our local community and to prioritize giving back through sharing the teachings, giving you space to explore yourself in your practice and fundraising initiatives that bring people together. We want to help you to feel the best you can, untap your potential, nurture community and live in harmony with the natural world in a way that is accessible for all individuals.
We have some exciting events coming up over the next few months. On Saturday, February 15th, from 2 – 3 pm Simonne will be holding our next monthly karma class for the Lanark County Food Bank (following with Sunday, March 16th). We also have a karma class on Friday February 21st from 6:30 – 8:00 pm for 2 local families who are in need of some extra support, Margie and I will be holding space for all of you to help support these 2 families through a healing sound immersion session.
March brings us our next relaxation and renewal workshop, preparing our bodies for the spring! Looking ahead over the next few months we have another prenatal series starting in March, some workshops for yoga and chronic illness, Vichardeep will be holding her next detox workshop in April (her one this past weekend was so powerful and inspiring, excited for her spring cleanse session), we have special teachers coming to share their skills and gifts with somatics and self care teachings, and we have a special guest, local artist Jessica Hibberd, coming in to co-facilitate an art and yoga workshop for young girls in April.
Lots of exciting things coming so please stay connected, as we move through this season of hibernation and allow our bodies to rest and our visions to take shape. Taking supported time to balance movement with rest over these winter months is so vitally important, aligning yourself with the seasons and the natural earth cycles. In doing so you are supporting yourself to emerge with vitality and fresh energy as the tulips and the iris’s start to pop their beautiful heads up, I know, hard to imagine on a day like today.
Sending each of you our hearts full of love and gratitude. We hope to see you soon, on your mat or out and about in our amazing community of Almonte.
